Grading and Site Prep
We level pads, smooth rutted ground and shape lots after clearing. The finished grade sends water away from your buildings instead of toward them.

Skid steer services cover the mixed small jobs around a property that a loader does well. We bring our compact track loader, a skid steer that runs on tracks, and do the work for you. The bucket grades yards and lanes, spreads gravel and fills washouts. It also pushes brush into piles, and a forestry mulcher head grinds standing brush and saplings in place.
We are based in Augusta, in Hampshire County, and work across the Eastern Panhandle and the northern Shenandoah Valley. The loader rides to each job on our own trailer. Bigger ground jobs, like cutting a pad into a hillside, fall under grading and site prep. Call or text (540) 327-1400 for a free estimate.

Our loader runs two attachments: a bucket and a forestry mulcher head. Most skid steer work happens with the bucket. It cuts high spots down, carries dirt to the low ones and smooths the surface. That is skid steer grading, and it suits yards, lanes and small pads.
Gravel and topsoil come in on the supplier's truck and land in a pile. We spread the load where it belongs and shape it so water runs off. On a lane, that means a crown down the middle. When a lane needs a new base under the stone, we build and repair gravel driveways too.
With the mulcher head on, the same loader clears ground. The head grinds standing brush and saplings into chips where they grow. That is forestry mulching, and it works on a small patch or a whole grown up tract. Brush that is already cut gets pushed into piles with the bucket and set where you want it.
Our skid steer runs on tracks instead of tires. The tracks spread the machine's weight over a much larger area than four tires do. That puts less pressure on the ground under it.
That pays off on soft, wet or muddy ground. A wheeled skid steer tends to dig in there, get stuck and tear up the turf. A track loader holds a slope better, and it grades smoother because it does not bounce on tires.
Hampshire County sits in the ridge and valley country of eastern West Virginia. The ridges here run steep, and springs are common across the region. Tracks keep working on that kind of ground. Wet weather still limits what is safe on a steep bank, so some work waits for dry ground.
The loader pushes, carries, spreads and levels. Digging is a different job. Trenches, ditches, stumps and driveway cuts all call for the mini excavator. That is our excavation work, and the loader can follow it to spread the dirt and grade the finish.
Water trouble can take both machines. A wet yard may need a drain line dug first, and French drains are mini excavator work. The loader can then spread the dirt back and grade the ground over the line. Our trailer carries one machine per trip, so each one comes in when its part of the job is ready.
Tell us what you want done, and we match the machine to the job. We look at the ground first and give you a free estimate. Call or text (540) 327-1400 to set up a time.

Call or text (540) 327-1400 and tell us what the property looks like. Photos and a map pin help us picture the ground before we drive out.
We meet you at the property and go over what you want done. We check the slope, the wet spots, the trailer access, and what has to come down.
We give you a price for the work you asked about. The job goes on the schedule once you approve it.
The machine the job calls for comes in on our trailer, and the second one follows when the work needs both. Clearing, stump work and grading happen on the same job when the ground allows.
Before the machines load up, we go over the finished ground with you. You see the grade and where the chips and dirt ended up.

We cut in new gravel driveways and lanes on rural lots, and regrade drives that have rutted or washed out. The surface gets crowned so water runs off the drive instead of down it.

We grind standing brush, saplings and small trees into mulch with a mulcher head on our tracked loader. The chips stay on the ground and hold the soil in place.

Mini excavator digging for trenches, ditches, driveway cuts and dirt work. We clear and dig on the same job across Hampshire County and the Eastern Panhandle.
Learn MoreWe work out of Augusta, on US-50 between Romney and the Virginia line. That means ridge ground, thin shale soil, grown-up fence rows, and old pasture growing back in.
A tracked loader with a mulcher head clears standing growth, and a mini excavator does the digging. Tracks spread the weight on soft ground and hold better on slopes than wheels.
We come out, look at the property with you, and price the work. The estimate costs nothing and gives you a number before any machine shows up.
We cover Hampshire, Mineral, Hardy, Grant, Morgan and Berkeley counties in West Virginia. East of the line we reach Winchester and Front Royal, roughly 50 miles from Augusta.
