Capon Bridge sits in the Cacapon River valley on the east side of Hampshire County. The valley floor is narrow, and the ground rises into low hills with steep slopes. Bear Garden Mountain stands east of town, and US-50 cuts across it toward the Virginia line. The open ground runs along the river and up the hollows, and oak and hickory woods cover the slopes above.
